Tenerife Feb. 2005 : My sister Becca and I spent a week in Tenerife, Canary Islands. We rented a car and drove around to the villages around the island, trying to avoid the touristy coastal areas. It was unseasonably wet and chilly...locals told us the wettest winter in 50 years...so I imagine it is not usually as green as you see in these photos. We stayed at the "Casa Del Pintor," near Arona. The owner, Carlo Forte, has several little "country houses" to rent by the week, and a beautiful cactus garden.
